STORY.

I’ve been a maker my whole life, but my two great creative passions are ceramics and drawing. I trained on the renowned ceramics degree course at Harrow School of Art in the early 1990s and I am now a member of Rochester Square Studio in London where I make my Naked Raku and Saggar Fired pots. Drawing and specifically life drawing is something I took up later in life but has now become as vital a part of my practice as ceramics.

I draw and ‘paint’ with chalk pastels, charcoal and ink, on Chinese calligraphy paper, pastel and watercolour paper.

My wheel thrown, naked raku and saggar fired pots pots are without glaze. The surface decoration is achieved through rapid firing techniques and created by smoke and different metals.
